Article 50-2 (Prohibition on Unauthorized Collection of Electronic Mail Addresses, etc.)

 

1. No person shall collect electronic mail addresses using a program or other technical device that automatically collects electronic mail addresses from an Internet homepage where the intention to refuse the collection of electronic mail addresses is explicitly stated.

2. No person shall sell or distribute electronic mail addresses collected in violation of paragraph (1).

3. No person shall knowingly use an electronic mail address, the collection, sale, and distribution of which are prohibited under paragraphs (1) and (2), for transmitting information.

Article 65-2 (Penal Provisions) Any person who falls under any of the following subparagraphs shall be punished by a fine not exceeding 10 million KRW.

 

1. A person who takes technical measures in violation of Article 50 (4).

2. A person who transmits profit-making promotional information in violation of Article 50 (6).

3. A person who collects, sells, distributes, or uses electronic mail addresses for transmitting information in violation of Article 50-2.
